“Shadowing” is a technique that empowers people to learn and adapt to a changing environment. The idea is incredibly simple, but sadly most people have never heard of it and therefore can't use it intentionally.
To study vocab, don't memorize translations! Instead, create a vivid mnemonic story around each word, encoding its pronunciation, its spelling and its meaning. Make the story personal!
Education is how we're supposed to learn. But it doesn't teach us the most important skill: how to learn.
